Which Story is True?

Write about two of your experiences, one true and one a lie. Classmates should read them and post comments saying which they think is the true story. Here are my two stories:

1. When I was in India with a friend 25 years ago, I went to an Indian wedding party. My friend and I had just parked our bicycles at the bottom of a long set of steps (we were going to visit a castle on top of the hill). Suddenly a woman dressed in beautiful clothes came out of a house nearby, and asked us to come inside. We thought she was joking at first, but she said her family was having a wedding party in their house and garden, and they would be happy to have some foreign guests (even though we didn't know them!). We accepted her offer, and were glad we did. We were able to try lots of different delicious foods, including many types of curry, and met some very friendly people.

2. When I was a student, I had a part-time job at a big hotel in Sydney. I had many duties, especially changing the furniture in the biggest rooms, depending on what kind of event was being held. Sometimes there were wedding parties, so I had to put out many round tables, cover them with white tablecloths, put on the cutlery (knives, forks etc). When there were business meetings, I had to take out the tables and replace them with rows of chairs, plus a mic, projector, lecturn etc for speakers. One time while I was working, Michael Jackson, who was staying at the hotel, came to where I was working. He was lost and looking for the swimming pool. I told him where it was, and he thanked me and said I was doing a good job.
